I m back today to share another tutorial for the recently completed coastal farmhouse laundry. Build your own wood countertop. Be sure to fasten the counter in several spots. Then diy your own.

For a 1 1 2 thick countertop the wood screws should be long enough to go through the cabinet supports and into the counter at least 3 4. I m going to take you through the process i used of making this gorgeous looking maple counter and i started with rough sawn lumber. Next line up your blade just outside the mark so once it s cut you will have the correct size. However you do not need to invest a large amount of money to create a beautiful look.

Create your very own diy wood countertop and even add a little faux aging if you like. The only screw that doesn t need to travel is the one placed closest to the wall. We built our laundry room countertop in an afternoon and stained and sealed it over the next few afternoons. Wood countertops can add a classic finish to any type of kitchen décor.

Apply wood glue lightly to one tongue at a time setting each into a corresponding groove until all the pieces have been used and your desired width is reached.
