Aside from annoying squeaks and noticeable sagging another sure fire way to indicate a faulty door hinge is obviously a stuck door. Close the door to take some of the weight off the hinge. In this video my friend pete will show us how to remove hinge pins on a 1969 chevy chevelle. Continue to tap it up gradually increasing the force until the pin is finally lodged upwards.

Tap the bottom of the hinge pin with a hammer and screwdriver to pop up the pin. If it still will not come out it may be easier to remove the screws from one leaf which will allow you to remove the door. Put the flat end of the nail against the pin and tap it up with the hammer. Open and close the door a few times to further distribute the lubricant around the hinge.

If you re car door is refusing to budge replace the door hinge immediately to avoid inconvenience. As the door swings out from the car it puts pressure on the hinge pins which can cause the door to sag a little. A door hinge usually gets damaged when it s been overused or not properly maintained. Simply spray the lubricant into the gaps under the hinge cap the hinge bottom and each of the hinge gaps.

Wait about 10 minutes and try tapping again. Wait for 10 to 15 minutes for the spray to penetrate the hinge. It s the right way so you don t disrupt the setting of the door. Force the pin up from the door hinge.

Taking a hammer and your nail punch gently ram the pin upwards. Though with some effort you can remove even the most stubborn hinge pin. When the doors on your car get older they often stop closing as well as they once did. This video will show you how to do just that.

If you ve checked the striker plate and that seems fine you may need to replace your door hinge pins. If a hinge pin is stuck and will not come out when you tap it with a screwdriver first try squirting with penetrating lubricant. Spray a silicone lubricating spray over the moving parts of the hinge as well as into the top part of the hinge around the pin. When dealing with sharp objects such as a nail make sure you take precautions.
